What happened
Official servers closed
Velan's February 2023 post said Season 9 would be the last season and that all official servers would shut down at 12:00 UTC on June 6 2023.
Private servers released
Velan said a PC private-server build would let the community keep hosting matches after official servers closed. Official live-service play ended.
Velan Studios announced on February 3 2023 that Season 9 would be Knockout City's last, and that official servers would close at noon UTC on June 6 2023. GamesIndustry.biz reported the same day. Because every mode needed a live connection, the title screen would be as far as official clients could go.
Velan also said it would ship a private-server version so PC players could keep hosting. Official live service ended on the announced date. Cosmetics sold on the live service did not transfer to a publisher-run game after that point.
